How To Open Camera In Sony Vaio Laptop Windows 8

Had the same challenge (and some others) with a VGN-CR31Z after a clean install of Win8 64 bits and finally found a working driver. To make sure the one I found fits your config:

• Are you running a 32 or 64 $.25 version of viii ?
• What is your webcam Hardware Identification Number ?:
  - Goto device manager and await at the Properties of your webcam
  - Get to the Details tab then select Hardware Identification Number in the dropdown list
  - Right-click on the starting time line of the Value box and select Copy
  - Paste this information in your next reply

the windows run 32 bits and the hardwork is sony visual communication camera VGP-VCC8 but it doesn't appear(in windows viii) equally sony camera just as usb cam and the driver from sony doesn't work in windows 8 only in vista.

Hullo,

Itseems your cam is of type VGP-VCC8 - not certain yet. Could you please provide:

• PC Manufacturer & exact model
• Windows 8 version (32 or 64-flake)?
• What version of Windows were you running before?
  Don't forget to mention if this was a 32 or 64-chip version

FYI: Institute thread "usb 2.0 camera" becomes "UVC device" and stops being accessible that doesn't relate to your problem currently but just in case yous face the problem later on...
